Marcie Van Cleave – Executive Director


Marcie Van Cleave brings a wealth of experience in traditional music and dance to her role as executive director of BHSFS, along with her characteristic high energy and humor.  She has been teaching and leading traditional dances in the Boston area and throughout New England since the mid-1980s. Her dance teaching experience includes school programs and residencies, bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings, Girl Scout gatherings, and private parties. Recently she has taught folk dance for the Longy School’s Dalcroze Eurhythmics certification program.

Marcie has led international folk dance sessions at the New England Folk Festival and has been on staff as a caller at various Country Dance Society Pinewoods Camp weekends. She has also organized the Pinewoods Labor Day Session and the Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle School.  She has been the Executive Director of the Folk Arts Center of New England since 1988.
